Layens 21 Frame Bee Hive

Custom built Layens beehives and frames. Hives are built in 21 frame size. Come with your choice of touching or non-touching topbars. Non-touching topbars come with a cover cloth. Hives come with 1 follower board. Hives are built with 1.5" of natural wool insulation sandwiched between 2 layers of 3/8" plywood. They have a 3" air space below the frames for improved ventilation and ease of installing Langstroth nucs with the use of a conversion shim, Extra depth also gives the option of using 2 Langstroth medium frames tied together. Hive has an air space above the frames so emergency feed can be given winter or extra insulation added. Peaked roof is insulated like the roof on a house to keep[ the hive warm in winter or cool in the summer. Hive has multiple entrances giving options to divide the hive or give extra ventilation,

Stands are sold separately and are built with cedar with screw in feet to help with leveling the hive.
